The Business of Middle East Superyachting

Oman Muscat Al Bustan

A new yacht club and marina planned in Muscat as part of $390 million tourism project

Four Seasons is bringing a marina and yacht club to Muscat, Oman, as part of a new $390 million ( RO 150 Million) tourism complex.

On March 31st, the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism and Oman Tourism Development Company signed an agreement to establish development in Al Bustan.

The 138,000-square-meter project, under the management of global operator Four Seasons, will also include a luxury hotel offering 200 rooms, 91 residential units, and dining and retail options.

The investment in infrastructure of the announced marine facilities at the Al Bustami complex comes at a time when the Middle East superyacht market is emerging as a winter destination for foreign-flagged vessels. Experts in the field have long pushed for Oman’s potential, which offers a unique itinerary combining topographical exploration and cruising, to help accelerate the region’s growth.

Recent events have indicated Oman’s development as a leisure marine market. Italian shipbuilder Ferretti Group recently signed an agreement with AAA Marine to represent its fleet of luxury vessels in the United Arab Emirates and Oman.

In 2024, Al Mouj Marina was awarded the “Superyacht Ready” accreditation by The Yacht Harbour Association. The facility, part of Al Mouj Muscat, offers 16 berths for yachts over 30 meters in length with plans to expand its total of 132 berths to 400.
