Qatar’s Transport Ministry announces suspension of all maritime activities as tensions reemerge 

Qatar’s Ministry of Transport has suspended maritime activities amid escalating tensions between Iran and the United States, citing public safety.

“For public safety, owners and users of maritime vessels, including leisure boats, fishing boats, jet skis, and all other maritime vessels, are advised to temporarily suspend sailing and all forms of maritime activities, as of the date of this announcement and until further notice,” shared the Transport Ministry on Monday.

The news comes a week after Qatar lifted its first suspension, an advisory implemented on June 29th that suspended recreational boating activity.

In recent years, Qatar has ramped up efforts in establishing a superyacht market. The third annual Qatar Boat Show is scheduled for November 2026 at Old Doha Port.
