Dubai-based shipyard Grandweld has expanded into superyacht production.
The commercial builder, based in Maritime City, has announced the launch of a superyacht division catered to vessels of 60 meters and above.
The shipyard joined Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism, along with other stakeholders of the Gulf market, at the UAE Pavillion during the 2026 Monaco Yacht Show.

The company draws on over 40 years of experience in the construction of naval vessels, offering shore and yacht support services.
“We bring the facilities, the people and decades of experience building vessels for demanding conditions,” said Jamal Al Abki, Grandweld Shipyards’ General Manager. “Our aim is to build a yacht business that represents the Emirates internationally and stays close to owners, from the first stages of construction to life after delivery.”
The decision to enter the large-yacht sector was made in tandem with YT Advisory, a consultancy advising shipyards, private clients, and family offices.
Its first two models, based on platforms already built by the yard, comprise 60- and 65-meter yachts. The former is scheduled to begin construction in 2027, with Dutch firm Azure Yacht Design & Naval Architecture responsible for Naval Architecture, and the exterior penned by Monaco-based studio Dobroserdov Design.
