UAE, Jordan & Turkey Marinas Receive Top Honours at Abu Dhabi Maritime Awards

The Marinas edition of the 2024 Abu Dhabi Maritime Awards was held on November 23rd, recognizing achievements, initiatives, and leadership exhibited by marinas across The Middle East, North Africa, and the Türkiye (MENAT) region.

The ceremony, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, announced the winners during this year’s Abu Dhabi International Boat Show. 120 submissions from marinas in eight countries were received. The event awarded marinas for efforts in several categories including Sustainability, Innovation, and Health and Safety.

The evening’s top honors, the Outstanding Marina Award – recognizing overall achievement –  saw a clean sweep by D-Marin’s Türkiye marinas, winning three all three Gold, Silver, and Bronze Awards for D-Marin Turgutreis, D-Marin Göcek, and D-Marin Didim marinas, respectively.

D-Marin’s Türkiye’s Turgutreis Marina was the recipient of the night’s top prize – The Gold Award in the Outstanding Marina Category

Meanwhile, Jordan’s Ayla Marina was the recipient of the ‘Most Popular Marina” Gold Award, a prize determined by public voting. Qatar’s The Pearl Marina and Abu Dhabi Marine received the silver and bronze wins, respectively.

Emerging victorious was Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah Marina, winning the Gold Award in the “Employer Excellence Category,” and the Silver Award in the “Health and Safety Category”. Overall, the UAE collected the most awards, with 10 overall wins.

Jordan;;s Ayla Marina went home with two wins, including the Gold Award in the public-voted “Most Popular Marina” category

The investment in marine infrastructure in recent years proved to be a catalyst in developing The Middle East as a global superyacht destination. Offerings of vessel services, larger berthing configurations, and ancillary facilities to accommodate superyachts are in proportion to the exponential demand from local and foreign vessels extending passages to the region.

The Abu Dhabi Maritime Awards was held in cooperation with the Integrated Transport Centre, Abu Dhabi Maritime – a division of AD Ports Group. “The aim of the Abu Dhabi Maritime Awards is to motivate progress, promote regional marinas, and set new standards of excellence in the maritime sector,” said Captain  Saif Al Mheiri, CEO of Abu Dhabi Maritime and Chief Sustainability Officer – AD Ports Group.
