Bahrain Marina Share Progress Update for Phase 1

One of Bahrain’s biggest superyacht projects in construction is nearing the finish line. Bahrain Marina, the flagship waterfront development, has now achieved an 88% completion rate.

The first phase of the $530 million flagship waterfront facility, built by Bahrain Marina Development Company, spans over 250,000 square meters. The project will feature a 167-berth marina for vessels up to 50 meters in length, and 42 dedicated jet ski spaces.

In addition, Bahrain Marina will feature a yacht club, a beach resort area, and a luxury hotel with over 300 rooms. The company revealed that the marina club and pontoons are 97% complete.

This construction update comes just as the company has announced the appointment of Gagan Suri, its global development executive, as Chief Executive Officer.

The project follows a series of investments by the Kingdom of Bahrain to establish itself as a superyacht market. In 2025, the Kingdom took the initiative on the regulatory front, announcing new rules to facilitate the smooth entry and exit of visiting vessels. Edict (9) of 2025, announced by the Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, outlined key developments for maritime safety and security, as well as efforts to promote superyacht tourism, including pre-arrival procedures, operating requirements for the duration of the vessel’s stay, and compliance with the relevant laws and regulations.
