NEOM – The Superyacht Guide: What We Know So Far

When Saudi Arabia announced NEOM in 2017, an upcoming destination set to upend everything we know about luxury, The Middle East as a superyacht sector was still going from a foreign concept into a space with tremendous potential.

NEOM Construction Update – 2024

Fast forward to today, NEOM has announced multiple regions and cities, offering superyachts an alternative cruising destination with offerings of superyacht facilities. Here is what we know so far.

NEOM Regional Breakdown

Sindalah is the poster child and the first project announced by the development. The luxury island plans to accommodate 86 berths for vessels up to 180 meters in length, along with offshore buoys. Moreover, Sindalah will include a beach club, yacht club, and 38 culinary options, with 413 luxury hotel rooms and 333 serviced apartments. A soft launch is expected to take place in late 2024.

Jaumur


A superyacht-based community situated alongside the coast of the Gulf of Aqaba. Designed to host 6000 residents residing in 700 villas and 500 marina-surrounding apartments. The development will also see two hotels with 350 rooms.For superyachts, the revolutionary marina will see a 1.5-kilometre aerofoil that will accommodate the largest builds on the water.


Norlana

Announced in May 2024, Norlana is a cosmopolitan luxury community with residential options built around a world class marina, accommodating 6,000 residents with close to 700 luxury villas.

The Line

A futuristic city stretching inland from the Red Sea coast. A literal 106-mile-long linear city. On the other side of “The Line” is a hidden marina with a proposed 45,000 seat sports stadium. It is unclear whether original plans for The Line will proceed.

Aquellum

A subterranean community on the Gulf of Aqaba coastline, featuring the world’s first “floating marina” locasting within 450 meters of mountains. Sunken Marina could be accessed through an underwater concealed entry canal. Aquellum also plans to offer boutiques, art galleries, and a cloud garden to it’s residents.

The Red Sea is slowly opening up to welcome yacht tourism in a way never witnessed before.
