Qatar Boat Show at Old Doha Port – Get a First Look

November 6, 2024 – The first day of the inaugural Qatar Boat Show takes place at Old Doha Port. The event will feature over 495 exhibitors, including renowned Dutch shipyards Heesen Yachts, Oceanco, and Feadship. UAE-based shipbuilder Gulf Craft will exhibit vessels from the Majesty, Nomad, Oryx, SilverCat, and Silver Craft lines.

In March 2024, the first-ever Qatar Boat Show was announced at a conference, joining stakeholders of Qatar’s marine tourism sector and local, regional, and international boat builders and companies. The show is supported by the Ministry of Transport as the Strategic Partner, and Qatar Tourism as the Destination Partner. The event is part of Qatar’s 2030 vision, which plans to contribute to economic growth and enhance Qatar’s tourism appeal.

Old Doha Port, formerly the Port of Doha, built the Old Doha Port Marina for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, welcoming 20 vessels for the tournament. The marina accommodates vessels up to 160 meters in length, providing the largest berthing options in the Gulf State. Over the past few years, The cruise terminal has been transformed into a tourist destination welcoming over 300,00 visitors, completed after four years of construction efforts.  Since 2020, Old Doha Port has been recognized as the official entry point for the entry and exit of superyachts visiting Qatar.

In a press conference held on Tuesday, November 5th, the CEO of Old Doha Port Abdulla al-Mulla expressed the objectives for the event, stating: “ “This involves enhancing the maritime tourism sector in the country and establishing the port as a prominent tourist landmark in the heart of Doha, making it one of the most important marine tourism destinations in the Middle East. All the exhibition spaces for the exhibitors, including display areas and yacht berths and boats, have been sold out.”
