UAE yacht firm OceanWorld acquires stake in Italian shipyard Wider

In the next phase of its growth, Italian yacht builder Wider has announced a new capital increase and shareholder.

The UAE-based OceanWorld Group has acquired a stake in the holding company Wider Luxembourg S.à.r.l. to establish a strategic partnership with it.

The agreement, with its planned gradual entry, was signed in 2019, finalized through a capital increase to provide financial resources, and subscribed to by OceanWorld. The maritime services company specializes in sales, distribution, and management of yachts across the GCC.

“This is not just a financial partnership, but a synergy of purpose. OceanWorld is a partner that firmly believes in our growth path and the uniqueness of our products,” said Lydia Pascarelli, CEO of OceanWorld Group.

“We have closely followed the shipyard’s evolution and look forward to supporting the brand’s global development. We believe Wider is well-positioned to become a benchmark in luxury yachting,” said Marcello Maggi, member of the board of Wider Luxembourg S.à.rl.

Wider was established in 2010 and was purchased by Marcello Maggi, co-founder of ISA Yachts, in 2019.

2025 marked the first joint venture between OceanWorld and Wider as they premiered the Oceans47 model at the Monaco Yacht Show. It was made in collaboration with Dutch design firm Vripack.
