Bahrain Marina Development Company appoints Gagan Suri as new CEO

Bahrain Marine Development Company has named Gagan Suri as the new Chief Executive Officer, effective from April 1st, 2026.

BDMC, the master developer behind the Bahrain Marina, announced the appointment of Suri on the heels of the waterfront project’s operational launch. 

Overall progress for phase one of Bahrain Marina is 88% complete.

Suri has resided in the Kingdom of Bahrain for over a decade and has served as CEO of Bahrain Bay Development. The India-born-and-raised executive first moved to the United States to pursue his undergraduate degree before switching careers from hospitality to finance.  With stints in Canada and the United Kindom, Suri’s most recent tenure as Executive Director and Head of Development at Oxagon follows 25 years of experience in large-scale urban development, infrastructure delivery, and real estate investment across the Middle East, Europe, and Africa.

Bahrain Marina plans to operate at a 167 berth capacity for yachts up to 50 meters in length.

Bahrain Marina is one of the largest undertakings as part of its efforts to grow the Kingdom’s superyacht market. Spanning over 250,000 square meters, the development will feature a 167-berth marina for vessels up to 50 meters in length, and 42 dedicated jet ski spaces.

Last week, BDMC announced that the first phase of the project has reached an 88% completion rate. In addition, Bahrain Marina will feature a yacht club, a beach resort area, and a luxury hotel with over 300 rooms. The company revealed that the marina club and pontoons are 97% complete.
