Old Doha Port, formerly the Port of Doha, built the Old Doha Port Marina for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, welcoming 20 vessels for the tournament. The marina accommodates vessels up to 160 meters in length, providing the largest berthing options in the Gulf State. Over the past few years, The cruise terminal has been transformed into a tourist destination welcoming over 300,00 visitors, completed after four years of construction efforts.  Since 2020, Old Doha Port has been recognized as the official entry point for the entry and exit of superyachts visiting Qatar.

“We are immensely proud of what we achieved with the inaugural Qatar Boat Show 2024. This year, we are raising the bar further,” said Mohamed Abdulla al-Mulla, CEO of Old Doha Port.

In March 2024, the first-ever Qatar Boat Show was announced at a conference, joining stakeholders of Qatar’s marine tourism sector and local, regional, and international boat builders and companies. The show is supported by the Ministry of Transport as the Strategic Partner and Qatar Tourism as the Destination Partner. The event is part of Qatar’s 2030 vision, which plans to contribute to economic growth and enhance Qatar’s tourism appeal.

Meanwhile, maritime and logistics solutions company Qatar Navigation(Milaha) has agreed with the Qatar Free Zones Authority (QFZA) to construct The Milaha Yacht Yard, a new shipyard at Qatar’s Marsa Port. The facility will be located at Umm Alhoul Free Zone in Marsa Port and will span 22,000 square meters. To provide refits, modifications, repairs, and exterior upgrades for luxury yachts, naval ships, and wooden boats, the facility will find multiple workshops, two covered sheds, and an open yard.
